Chorus Concert 2008
Pictures from Mary's first Christmas Chorus Concert! Click here for more.
The concert was great and we were very excited to see Mary's first performance. The first two songs went great, then Mary realized that they were showing Frosty the Snowman on the TV's in the food court at the Mall where the performance was held. Needless to say that was a bit of a distraction. Nonetheless, all the songs were sung and Mary had a great time singing with her friends.

Windy day, but fun!
Was a windy day today on top of Stone Mountain, but fun was had all around.
I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to join Mary for her 2nd field trip this year. I arrived at school in time to add 2 car seats and 1 booster seat to the van. Soon after I found myself strapping 4 kids, ages 4-5, into their seats. Off we went to Stone Mountain.
The ride there was easy and quick. I unstrapped the kids as quickly as possible and we, along with ~10 other kids, made our way to the cable car to take the ride to the top of Stone Mountain for lunch. The children were all excited to be riding the cable car. Once we arrived we departed the cable car and set out to find a nice place to sit and eat our lunch. Finding a spot that not too windy proved to be difficult, but an acceptable spot was found.
We sat for ~30 min for everyone to eat their lunches. Once lunch was finished each group of kids from the car they rode in was given the opportunity to participate in a scavenger hunt. We were to find lichen, red moss, places where the rain/soil had made "holes" in the rock, and finally we were to look for a hawk flying.
After about 20 min of hunting (and finding 3 out of 4 items) we made out way back inside to wait on the next cable car to take us back to the bottom of the "rock". Once again, all the children loved the ride in the cable car.
At the end of the ride, we all departed to have our after hike snack. We all gathered around some blooming cherry blossom trees for a relaxing few minutes.
Soon after we packed everything back into the van and were on our way back to school.
A fun time was had by all!
