Started using the G diapers this week. They work pretty well. Let me tell you, it sure feels good flushing a diaper vs simply throwing another one into the trash. We still have to work on the formula for how often to change them vs. regular diapers, but we're giving it a try.

Update from the Dr.
Wrapping up our 1 month checkup. Henry is doing great. Here's the statistics --
10lbs 11oz (75th percentile)
22 3/4 tall (85th percentile)
Dr says all looks good and looks forward to seeing us at the 2 month checkup (where we'll have to get another shot).
1 month and 1 bath
Henry is 1 month old today! We head to the Dr. to get a checkup later today and will report back later.
We also gave him his first bath last night. He did not like it so much, but he is a clean little boy!
We'll update when we return from the Dr. with any news.

Why do I share this with you?
Because 6.8571428571428571428571428571429 is the number of diapers that we are going through in a day. We bought a box of 96 diapers and opened them on January 1st, and we just finished them last night. Amazing, and that is the reason we will start using gDiapers as soon as Henry gets a little bigger!

Our first cold
Looks like we've got our first cold, and at only 3 weeks. Just stopped by to see the Dr and she confirmed it. Now we just have to let it run it's course.
On a good note, he is gaining weight and is up to 10lbs!!

Laundry
I forgot how much laundry a newborn creates. Spit-ups, leaky diapers, etc. Add to that the fact we also have a 3 year old that likes to change clothes on whim on the weekends, and sometimes when she gets home from school. Makes for a lot of time spent in the laundry room, which is where I am off to now. ;-)

Family Update
All is well. Henry is still sleeping well, except for a couple nights earlier this week when he had some TERRIBLE gas pains. Seems like he wakes up about every 3 hours in the evening, which is manageable.
Mary is back in school and sharing new things that she is learning with us all the time. Tonight she shared the story of how clothes are made of cotton and the entire process cotton goes through to make shirts like the one she was wearing. It's always amazing to listen to stories she tells.
Mary still adores Henry, and he seems to be recognizing her voice when she walks into the room. Not sure if he will still like all of the kisses and hugs Mary gives him when he's a couple years older, but she is getting in plenty of them while she can!
Thanks to everyone for the cards, emails, comments on the website, etc. It's always good to hear from friends and family.

Obama Video
Have a friend from high school that has been working with the Obama '08 campaign and has created a few videos. Below is his latest creation. Enjoy!
Sleep, Sleep, and more sleep.....
All is going well with Henry these days, and Mary is back in school as of yesterday.
Henry is still quite the sleeper! We went in for our 1 week checkup last week and the Dr. said all was well, and Henry had gained just over an ounce, up to 8lbs 7 1/2 oz. He is waking up 2-3 times a night, which is completely manageable, and nice that it's not more often. Mary still gives him kisses and hugs whenever she can.
I am working from home this week, making sure that we get the new routines down to get Mary to school, etc. while keeping a watchful eye on Henry.
